PESHAWAR (Web Desk) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Home Department has decided to supply power through solar energy and seeking recommendations in this matter have been started.
According media reports, the decision has been taken by the authorities after it was anticipated that threat of terrorist attacks could increase due to interruption in electricity supply to jails.
In this regard, the home department has sought recommendations from different companies; however, funds have not been allocated for the project yet.
It should be noted that provincial government has also allocated Rs248 million to improve security of the jails and control rooms will be established at eleven jails for this purpose.
This initiative will not only improve security measures but also keep CCTV cameras, scanners and other security devices running.
