ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday reached the affected city of Shangla to review rescue and relief operation following the Monday’s 7.5 magnitude earthquake that jolted Pakistan, causing excessive devastation in Khyber Pakhtukhwa and Gilgit Baltistan.
According to a statement Prime Minister is also accompanied by Governor KPK Sardar Mehtab Abbasi, Federal Minister for Information Pervez Rasheed and other top officials.
Earlier this day Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif a high level meeting to review the situation after earthquake.
During the meeting Chairman National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) briefed the premier about losses and ongoing rescue operation in affected areas.
Chairman National Highway Authority (NHA) was also invited to the meeting to brief about the damages caused to roads and bridges.
Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mehtab Abbasi, federal minister for finance Ishaq Dar, federal interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and federal minister for information Pervez Rasheed were also be present in the meeting.
