Eight boggies of passenger train derail near Jamshoro

HYDERABAD – A train carrying passengers from Karachi to Peshawar derailed near Sann, a rural town in Jamshoro district, in the early hours on Thursday.

According to the police, 8 boggies of the Khushhal Khan Khattak Express derailed, however, no major loss had been reported as only 2 passengers were slightly injured.

Due to the accident, the other trains heading to Karachi from the upcountry were stopped at Aamri railway station as both the tracks were closed.

The authorities have launched investigations into the incident that happened days after eight bogies of Peshawar-bound Khushal Khan Khattak Express derailed near Sohan Bridge and Makhad Road Railway Station.

As per Rescue 1122 sources and Deputy DHO Jand Dr Haroon Khattak, no one died in the accident.

However, 10 people including 2 women received minor injuries while an elderly man’s leg was fractured who was shifted to hospital and rest of the injured were given first aid treatment on the spot.
