Prime gang-rape suspect arrested in Lahore

LAHORE (Staff Report) – Police authorities have arrested prime suspect named Adnan Sanaullah in the gang-rape case of a 15-year old girl, DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf said.

Adnan Sanaullah is said to be a close aide of Punjab Sports Minister Rana Mashood, however the latter has denied any links with the accused.

Later this day police produced all eight suspects arrested in the case before a local court. The suspects were handed over to police on a physical remand of three days.

Talking to newsmen DIG Operations said that as many as eight suspects were arrested in connection with the case while seven out of them have undergone a DNA test. The eight suspect, who is said to be the prime culprit, will also undergo DNA test, he added.

On the occasion he also promised an independent investigation and a fair trial of the accused in the case.
