KARACHI: Karachi on Tuesday evening received its first monsoon rain, accompanied by with strong winds.
Hyderabad and Tando Ghulam Ali and Tando Allahyaar also experienced heavy rains.
The rain turned the weather pleasant in many areas.
However, soon after the drizzle, a number of K-Electric feeders tripped, causing power outages.
The areas where power broke down include North Karachi, New Karachi, Orangi Town and Pahar Ganj.
According to Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB), K-Electric’s transmission line of 132 KV has tripped as a result of strong winds and heavy rainfall.
KE has issued an advisory, urging citizens to stay away from electric poles and not to use wet hands to ring door bells.
