Mars-bound rocket booster passes a key test

UTAH: The world’s most powerful rocket booster passed its second test-firing on the ground on Tuesday.

The rocket is now ready for its first official test launch in Florida.

The two-minute burn was the final ground test for the booster that NASA hopes will one day blast humanity off to Mars, RT reported.

The first test-firing back in March of 2015 was also successful.

The final experiment took place in the Utah desert with NASA broadcasting the proceedings live through webstream.

NASA hopes the Space Launch System (SLS) will eventually transport humans to Mars in the coming decades.
