LAHORE- Since April 2018, the Meesha- Ali controversy has been in the news and people are confused regarding the result of the case. Recently, the Huqa Pani singer has legally filed a case against Meesha Shafi, demanding payment of PKR 1 billion before 5 July.
The court, while directing Shafi to file her response by July 5, also restrained her from “making any derogatory remarks” against Ali Zafar “in any manner on print or electronic or social media”. The lawyer of Ali Zafar also stated that the act of sexual allegations by Meesha was simply a ‘cheap publicity’ stunt.
The media somehow interpreted it as a victory from Ali Zafar’s side but Meesha Shafi’s lawyer has also spoken up and shared their part of the game in a Twitter post.
After it was revealed that Zafar had filed a defamation case in a Lahore sessions court, Meesha Shafi’s legal representatives Nighat Dad shared that her client has also filed a case against Ali Zafar and it is pending before the relevant authorities.
According to Ahmed Pansota, some progress on the case is expected to be made in the next 25 days, and efforts will be made to keep the details of the case restricted to the courts and relevant forums.

“Meesha’s claim of sexual harassment against Ali Zafar is pending adjudication before the competent forum,” said Pansota on Twitter. Pansota has also clarified the public that Meesha Shafi has not given up and they will be fighting till the matter is being solved legally.
He further stated: “We have not received any such notice, but I would like to clarify that Meesha Shafi has not been barred from using social media, or barred from speaking about Ali Zafar or about sexual harassment, but simply from making ‘derogatory remarks’ about Zafar, which she was not making in any case.”
Till now, no public post or appearance has been given by Shafi. Ali Zafar is busy in promoting his upcoming movie Teefa In Trouble.
