KARACHI – In a shocking incident, a mentally unstable women set alight her own house, killing her three sons and three daughters in Baldia Town, Karachi on Sunday night.
The mother identified as Gulzara Bibi torched down the home located in the Malang Goth when all the family members were sleeping, a surviving son named Sajid told police during investigation. The suspect woman also died in the incident, raising death toll to seven.
Sajid said that the fire was not an accident as it was started by her mother, who was receiving treatment for her mental disorder for past two years. He said that he was sleeping when the fire caught all the house.
Of the seven deceased, four died on the spot while remaining succumbed to injures when they were being shifted to hospital.
The two injured were transferred to the burns ward of the metropolis’ Civil Hospital.
Police have also confirmed that the fire had not erupted accidentally but was alight by Gulzara Bibi.
