Appointment of former CJP as governor Sindh challenged

ISLAMABAD – The appointment of former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saeed-uz-Zaman as governor Sindh has been challenged in Islamabad High Court (IHC).

Shahid Orakzai, the petitioner, took the plea in his application that as per constitution former CJP can not become a member of National Assembly (MNA). Therefore, how a person who can not become MNA, can be appointed as governor, Orakzai argued in petition.

The petitioner said that induction of former CJP as governor Sindh runs contrary to law.

He prayed the court to remove former CJP as governor Sindh. Governor Sindh and ministry of law have been made respondents in this case.-Online
