Foreign diplomats passionate to attend historic Kartarpur ceremony

LAHORE – The historic Karatarpur border corridor groundbreaking ceremony, a moment of great pleasers for the Sikh community across the globe, has captured the attention of the world.

A number of diplomats stationed in Pakistan reached Lahore from Islamabad to attend the landmark event going to be held in Narowar district later today.

They also seem happy with the Pakistani government’s decision to open the border for Sikh pilgrims, fulfilling their longstanding wish.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr. Mohammad Faisal in a tweet shared pictures of the diplomats attending the ceremony. He also wrote, “The world comes together for the #Pakistankartarpurspirit”.

In another tweet, Faisal said: “The journey begins. We move towards the peace which has remained elusive. A huge success for #Pakistan. A dream coming true for the Sikhs”.

PM Imran to Perform Groundbreaking Ceremony

Prime Minister Imran Khan is set to perform the groundbreaking of the Kartarpur border corridor that connects India’s Gurdaspur district to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib located in Pakistan’s Narowal today.

India last week gave the go-ahead to Pakistan’s proposal to build Kartarpur corridor to facilitate Sikh pilgrims wishing to visit the place that holds religious significance for the Sikh community; It is the place where Baba Guru Nanak settled down after his travels as a missionary.
