Sartaj Aziz meets Chinese foreign minister in New York

NEW YORK (Staff Report) – National Security Adviser to Prime Minister Sartaj Aziz called on Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the sidelines of UN General Assembly session here on Monday.

Both the dignitaries expressed their confidence over the bilateral ties between the two countries and also discussed regional issues including the Afghanistan conundrum.

On Sunday, Sartaj Aziz met Turkish foreign minister Feridun Hadi Sinirliogulu in New York where both leaders agreed to speed up work on mutual Free Trade Area to expand trade ties between the two countries.

They also expressed satisfaction on positive momentum in brotherly relations between Pakistan and Turkey, achieved as a result of frequent high-level exchanges as well as signature economic projects, like Metro Bus, urban waste management and energy sector cooperation.

They agreed to further enhance cooperation in defence industry and maintain high-level contacts on important regional and strategic matters.
