NEW YORK – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday attended a reception hosted by US President Joe Biden in honor of world leaders participating in the United Nations General Assembly session.

During the event, Prime Minister Sharif and United States President Joe Biden engaged in cordial meeting, exchanging good wishes and discussing mutual interests. The reception was attended by heads of state from various countries, highlighting the significance of international collaboration in addressing global challenges.

State broadcaster said the gathering serves as platform for leaders to strengthen diplomatic ties and foster dialogue on pressing global issues during the ongoing UN session.

Pakistan-US ties have been complex, evolving from close cooperation in the war on terror post-9/11. Despite these challenges, Islamabad and Washington acknowledge importance of their relationship and are seeking renewed engagement in areas like trade, climate change, and regional stability.
