ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Former Managing Director and Chairman of Pakistan Television Aslam Azhar passed away in Islamabad tonight.
He was 85 and his funeral prayer will be offered in Islamabad tomorrow.
Aslam Azhar was born in Lahore in 1932. He went to Cambridge to study law, jurisprudence in 1954. Legendary broadcaster was awarded the Tamgha-e-Pakistan in 1968.
His film on Gandhara civilisation was well received.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid have expressed deep grief over the sad demise of Aslam Azhar.
They prayed eternal peace for the deceased and commiserated with the bereaved family.
