Council of Common Interests meeting underway in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – The 28th meeting of Council of Common Interests (CCI), under the chair of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, is in progress.

The CCI’s agenda also includes formulation of National Flood Protection Plan-IV 2015-25. Besides, it will discuss pumping of drainage effluent, rationalisation of water distribution from Hub dam and early completion of RBOD-III. The meeting will also discuss issues including holding of national census and the status of its important decisions, taken during the previous meeting, Radio Pakistan reported.

Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will brief the body on import of Liquefied Natural Gas.

Earlier, four Provincial Chief Ministers called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad prior to the meeting of Council of Common Interests. The chief ministers discussed the problems faced by their respective provinces.
