Altaf Hussain withdraws decision to quit MQM

KARACHI (Web Desk) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain has reversed his decision to detach himself from the party during an address to followers at nine-zero.
“Be happy my workers”, he said, “i will continue to lead the party, but workers must care for their security”, MQM chief said this after ten minutes of his one hour long speech.
Emotional political fans of Altaf Hussain kept chanting slogans in his support throughout his address.
There would be wheel jam on very next day if any other party worker was killed, he threatened.
In his telephonic address he said that military intelligence wanted a MQM with out Altaf Hussain. I have been preaching love and peace for every faction of the nation but rulers did not accept me, he added.
Party workers warmly welcomed the latest statement their political leader.
Earlier he had announced that he would sever all ties with his party, saying he would deliver his last address to MQM workers and supporters in Haiderabad on Friday.
Talking to Pakistani media through telephone he also asked for the nation’s forgiveness.
The MQM chief claimed that the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) had never accepted him and accused the country’s premier intelligence agency of implicating him in cases even though no corruption was proved against him.
He also claimed that he had seen the ‘ISI’s hand supporting the lawyers movement against former presient Pervez Musharraf’.
Altaf said he held Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah responsible for the murder of 36 party activists, according to a statement issued on the MQM’s website.
The remarks of the MQM supremo had come as his party observes a national day of mourning and a wheel jam strike in Sindh over the ‘extrajudicial killing’ of one of its workers in Karachi.
