Elimination of terrorism top most priority: PM Nawaz

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has reaffirmed government’s categorical resolve to continue the war on terror until the last terrorist is eliminated from soil of the country.

Chairing a meeting in Islamabad on Friday, the prime minister emphasised that the country is on the right track to achieve stability, economic progress.

“We will provide a conducive environment for all sectors to perform up to their true potential,” the PM told the meeting that discussed overall security and economic situation of the country.

He said eliminating the menace of terrorism and ensuring a peaceful Pakistan for our future generations is the top most priority of the government. “Our successes against terrorism and achieving economic stability have created a new hope in our people,” he added.

PM Nawaz took participants of the meeting into confidence on his latest visits to Saudi Arabia, Iran and Davos (Switzerland). He said Pakistan’s image abroad has improved which is due to the consolidated efforts of the government’s team.

“The business leaders and communities from the world-over view Pakistan quite positively, for which the economic team of the government deserves recognition and appreciation.”

The prime minister was briefed in detail on the sad incident of Bacha Khan University and the investigations in this regard.

The meeting was attended, among others, by federal ministers Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Ch Nisar Ali Khan, Pervaiz Rashid, Ahsan Iqbal and Khawaja Saad Rafique, Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Special Assistant Syed Tariq Fatemi, Senator Mushahid Ullah Khan and Irfan Siddiqui.
