PML-N to file review petition against Nawaz disqualification

ISLAMABAD – A meeting of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) held Saturday decided to file to file a review petition in the Supreme Court against his disqualification in the Panama Papers case.

Head of PML-N and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif chaired the meeting at Punjab House. Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif and others party leaders attended it.

Chairing the meeting, Nawaz Sharif dismissed the propaganda that Panama case verdict would weaken the ruling party. He said that the nation knows he has not been declared ineligible over corruption.

He said the presence of PML-N members in large numbers is a fitting response to the opposition’s propaganda, adding that PML-N was stronger than before. “Your leader is not weak. We have accepted the verdict despite reservations,” he added.

The former prime minister dismissed the impression that he was toppled on the charges of corruption. “Why should I have declared the salary which I had not received؟” he argued. He said that he was punished for putting the country on the path of rapid development.- Online
