One dead, two wounded after train hits truck in Lahore

LAHORE (Staff Report) – One man was killed and two others injured when a Karachi-bound train smashed into a truck/trailer at an unmanned level-crossing near Prem Nagar, Raiwind Road here on Sunday.

The accident took place at 7:30PM when the truck driver attempted to cross the level-crossing, disregarding the fast approaching Night coach train, which runs between Lahore and Karachi.

According to rescue officials, the accident took place due to negligence as the barrier was left opened at the crossing.

One of the bogies of the train overturned leaving one person dead and two others wounded, they added.
