GUJRANWALA – At least five alleged terrorists affiliated with banned outfit have been gunned down in the crossfire between police and terrorists near Wapda Town bypass area in Gujranwala.
On a tip-off about the presence of eight terrorists in the area, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) conducted a search operation and in the meanwhile terrorists started firing at the raiding party.
According to CTD sources, five terrorists were killed in firing by their own accomplices while the remaining three fled the scene due to bad light.
The killed terrorists were planning to carry out the attack in Gujranwala, said CTD official on condition of anonymity.
The CTD to have also recovered explosive material, hand grenades and other weapons from the suspects’ possession. The identity could not be ascertained immediately.-Online
