ISLAMABAD – Veteran journalist Sami Ibrahim has claimed that before the publication of Dawn’s controversial story regarding civil-military clash, Maryam Nawaz, daughter of PM Nawaz was in touch with Dawn’s correspondent Cyril Almeida who filed the story.
Sami while talking to a leading news channel claimed that Cyril Almeida, the Dawn reporter who filed the story depicting frayed civil-military relations in the aftermath of Uri attack was in contact with Maryam Nawaz through instant messaging application Viber.

The journalist expressed that Cyril and Maryam Nawaz made at least 8 Viber calls before the publication of the story.
On the other hand, Cyril denied the report terming it awkward.

But the confident Sami went a mile more and alleged that Cyril’s brother operates 27 sims adding that Cyril met Maryam Nawaz more than 20 times.

During a panel discussion, it was also revealed that the military establishment discussed single point agenda of Dawn’s story in a latest meeting with CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif along with two powerful ministers.
Reports are also rife that the army has hinted at federal minister for information Pervez Rasheed as the man behind the leaked story.
In another tweet, Sami confirmed that the army has denied any high-level meeting in Pm office till culprits behind Dawn’s story are nabbed.

It was also stated that army wants to handle the issue through it’s own procedure although the Prime Minister was not ready for that as the face behind the case was allegedly Maryam Nawaz.
The journalist also clarified at another individual allegedly involved in “planted” story.
