ISTANBUL – President Dr Arif Alvi held a meeting with his Kyrgyz counterpart Sooronbay Jeenbekov in Istanbul on Monday.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on bilateral ties and matters of mutual interest.
They agreed to increase bilateral cooperation in various fields and emphasized the enhanced role of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in people to people contacts.
Dr Arif Alvi appreciated Kyrgyzstan’s role in facilitating Pakistan to become a full member of the SCO.
Kyrgyzstan is the current chairman of the SCO and intends to convene its meeting soon. President Arif Alvi also held a meeting with his Albanian counterpart Ilir Meta in Istanbul today and discussed matters of mutual interest.
