Explosion strikes Peshawar leaving three injured

PESHAWAR – At least three people were injured in an explosion in Shinwari Town near Peshawar’s Ring Road on Friday, authorities said.

According to Senior Superintendent Police Operations, Sajjad Khan the explosion took place near a hospital located on the provincial capital’s Ring Road.

The injured include the owner of the hospital as well as his son.

Detailing the nature of explosion, eye-witnessed claimed that it sounded like a grenade attack, however, police did not confirm the exact nature.

The affected sustained minor injuries, who were shifted to Lady Reading hospital and MMC General Hospital.

Terror Bid Staved Off

The law enforcers foiled a major terror bid in the city on Friday by arresting two alleged terrorists from a house in Yasinabad area.

Superintendent Police Operations, Sajjad Khan, hinted at the possibility of a larger international militant outfit behind the terror bid, however, he did not name any such organisation.

Around 34 kgs of explosives, two bombs, magnet bombs and pipe bombs were recovered from the location.
