ISLAMABAD/NEW DELHI (Web Desk) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday telephoned his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi and extended his deep condolences on the earthquake that hit Nepal and India causing huge loss of life and property.
“PM Nawaz Sharif appreciated India’s efforts in the rescue operations in Nepal. I thank him for his kind words,” PM Modi said in a tweet.
“I suggested to PM Sharif that SAARC nations should conduct regular joint exercises on disaster relief and rescue,” PM Modi said.
“PM Sharif appreciated this idea and told me that we should take up such an initiative,” the PM said in another tweet.
PM Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart also discussed the unseasonal rains and its adverse impact on the crops.
