LAHORE (APP) – Directorate General, Immigration and Passport will set up 5th new passport office at “Y” block in Defense Housing Authority, (DHA) Lahore shortly.
Official sources told APP here Friday that DHA will provide fully furnished centrally air-conditioned building for the establishment of ultra modern computerized passport office to facilitate the people of the cantonment areas. Four other passport offices in city one each at Abbot Road,Garden Town, Shahdara and Lahore High Court are issuing nearly 2100 passports daily.
The urgent passports are being issued in four days while ordinary within 10 days.Any applicant can also check the status of process of issuance of new passport by feeding 14 digit application number through free sms to 9988.Instantly update status will automatically appear in response to reply of the sms.
Official sources further stated that Deputy Director, Central Zone, Lahore Akhlaq Ahmad Qureshi has earmarked one hour daily for public at his office where the genuine grievances of the applicants are addressed on the spot.
