Strong 7.0-magnitude quake strikes eastern Russia

HONG KONG (APP) – A strong 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck eastern Russia on Saturday morning, the US Geological Survey said.

The quake occurred at 0325 GMT at a depth of 153 kilometres (95 miles), and took place about 92 KM northeast of the Russian town of Yelizovo, USGS said.

The National and Pacific Tsunami Warning Centers said there was no risk of a tsunami as a result of the quake.
