ISLAMABAD – As the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and other martyrs of Karbala tragedy is being observed today across the country, mobile phone, internet and GPRS services will remain suspended in all major cities except Islamabad.
The federal government issued the orders pertaining to the suspension of the services on the request made by the provincial governments and Azad Jammu and Kashmir government as part of the security measures.

The services will not be available when the mourning processions will be taken out and it will be restored after all the processions conclude.
In Punjab, the services will not be available in Lahore, Sargodha, Okara, Rahim Yar Khan, Khusab, Narowal, Gujranwala, Attock, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Rawalpindi and others.
Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Khairpur, Jacobabad and Shikarpur are the cities in Sindh where the mobile phone and internet service will be suspended, while in Balochistan, Quetta will see the suspension.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the cities are Dera Ismail Khan, Nowshera, Bannu, Kohat and others.
