ISLAMABAD – A surge in prices of high-speed diesel (HSD) and petrol is expected with the start of next month, September as Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has sent summary to revise prices of petroleum products upwards.
As per reports, Ogra sent a summary to the Ministry of Energy on Wednesday and recommended an increase in the prices of petroleum products for September.
It has recommended an increase of Rs2.24 per litre in petrol price, Rs0.70 for high-speed diesel, Rs12 for light diesel and Rs15 for kerosene oil.
The ministry will take the decision in this regard today (Thursday), while new prices will be effective from September 1 (Friday).
After upwards revision, the petrol price will surge to Rs71.80 per litre from the current Rs69.56, whileHSD will be sold for Rs78.10 per litre from the current Rs77.40.
