CHENNAI – Famous Tamil actor Rajnikanth made the announcement that he will be joining politics and will also be forming his own political party.
Rajnikanth addressed his supporters as he made the announcement in Chennai, “I will form my own political party and contest from all 234 seats in the next (state) assembly election.”
This announcement came after decades of speculation after he defeated the state-government in 1966 when he asked his fans to vote out of the elections and succeeded in doing so. He is called “superstar” by his fans.
Rajnikanth said further, “I’ll push for spiritual politics without caste or religious leanings. If I come to power and am not able to deliver in three years, I’ll resign. Democracy is in a state of distress in the state.”
