LAHORE – Jamaat-ud-Dawa chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed said that his house arrest order came from New Delhi and Washington, and it was an attempt to sabotage the struggle for Kashmir.
Talking to newsmen outside the central office of Jamaat-ud-Dawa in Lahore, Hafiz Saeed vowed that the Kashmir freedom movement would continue till the end of his life.
“We want to maintain the sovereignty and integrity of Pakistan. There is not even a single case registered against us in the country,” he claimed.
Earlier, the federal government ordered to place Jamaat ud Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed under house arrest.
The action followed the statement of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan in which he stated the activities of Jamaat-ud-Dawa has been under observation since 2011 and details over possible action against it would be made public tomorrow.
Nisar added that Jamaat-ud-Dawa has been declared as a banned outfit in a resolution of Security Council of the United Nations (UN) and every state is required to take action.
