LAHORE – Jo Hansford’s senior hair stylist Frankie Moody has some much-needed advice on maintaining a blow dry. We often do our hair according to our plans ahead but busy days often want to make us keep our hair intact.
Here are the few tips Jo provided for a happier you and a longer blow-dry.
1. When washing your hair, use a light, cleansing shampoo and conditioner – leaving the conditioner for the ends only (the last few inches of your hair).
Unless you have frizzy, unruly hair, most shampoos will leave your hair manageable and well-conditioned.
2. Avoid oily, cream based products when blow drying your hair as this will weigh your hair down and knock any volume you’re trying to build-up out of your hair.
This will also mix with the natural oils of your scalp and result in greasy hair. Again, if you have fine hair, use very minimal amounts of rich product to make your ‘do last longer.
3. Try not to touch your hair too much throughout the day as this stimulates your scalp’s natural oils which will make your hair look and feel greasier much sooner
4. Twist hair up overnight and use a silk pillowcase; this will keep your hair protected boosting shine and helping to reduce against friction based damage (also be careful when combing through wet hair – gently is best to avoid breakage).
5. Dry shampoo and texture powder/dust is great for taking shine and greasiness out of the roots of your hair.
Enjoy your blow-dry, guys!
