Zac Efron transforms himself as most notorious killer Ted Bundy

LAHORE – Zac Efron has finally emerged in the trailer of Ted Bundy’s biopic as the most notorious killer of America. The minute-and-a-half-long clip opens with Bundy in 1969, when he first meets his soon-to-be girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloepfer, played by Lily Collins. An earlier Deadline report said that the movie would be told primarily from Kloepfer’s perspective, and the teaser seems to back that up, focusing mostly on Kloepfer and her struggle to reconcile her love for her longtime boyfriend with the heinous and brutal accusations lodged against him.

John Malkovich portrays Judge Edward Cowart, who presided over Bundy’s trial and sentenced him to death, while Jim Parsons plays lead prosecutor Larry Simpson. Rounding out the main cast are Haley Joel Osment, Westworld‘s Angela Sarafyan, The Americans‘ Dylan Baker, Shut Eye‘s Jeffrey Donovan, Billions‘ Terry Kinney, and Metallica frontman James Hetfield (as Officer Bob Hayward).

Extremely Wicked is directed by Joe Berlinger, who also helmed Netflix’s docuseries Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes.
