Zoheb Hassan is filing a lawsuit against PSL for illegally using Disco Deewane

The fourth season of Pakistan Super League commenced with a grand ceremony, in which famous celebrities delivered some power packed performances and made it a night to remember.

The young singing sensation Aima Baig and the music maestro Shuja Haider put up an exciting show as they grooved to their version of ‘Disco Deewane’. However, Zoheb Hassan lashed out at the management for using late Nazia Hassan’s hit without permission.

Zoheb Hassan has called out the Pakistan Super League (PSL) management, along with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials, for copyright infringement.

The Pakistani pop icon took to his social media accounts to share the clip of this particular performance and condemned the outright infringement of intellectual property.

Zoheb then reached out to a local media outlet, The Express Tribune, and claimed that he is going to ‘make an example out of this.’ He further added, “Intellectual property has to be respected and acknowledged across the board.”

The singer said he was not only dejected because of the copyrights infringement but because a venture like PSL is so important for Pakistan and Pakistan’s image.

“This is not only for me or my song. Copyrights need to be respected across the board. Nazia was a very kind soul and she is not here with us today but even she would have been unhappy about it.”

The Dosti crooner said this issue should set an example of taking artists and their work seriously in Pakistan. He has also reached out to PSL management however there’s no clear outcome as of yet.
