LOS ANGELES – Amid the Academy Award celebrations, Disney has just released a new teaser trailer for Jon Favreau’s upcoming live-action adaptation of The Lion King. This new teaser actually appears to be a truncated version of the first full-length trailer that was released late last year.
One-minute teaser shows up the famous The Lion King opening scene of Simba’s christening, as he is presented to all the animals of the Pride Rock kingdom. While there isn’t much in the way of new footage, there is actually one noticeable — and extremely cute — new shot featured in this trailer: baby Simba’s sneeze, which fans will recognize from the original 1994 animated film.
The trailer was released during the Oscars’ commercial break begins with the savannah sunrise and with Rafiki declaring, “It’s time” and we are instantly taken back to our childhood.

The dubbing for the upcoming venture is being done by James Earl Jones, returning to his original role as Mufasa from the original film, along with Donald Glover as Simba, Beyonce as Nala and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar.
Disney has also shared the brand new poster for ‘The Lion King’.

Whereas, last year the first teaser trailer released in November and it became Disney’s most-watched trailer in a day, racking up a record 224.6 million views in its first 24 hours.

After getting record-breaking views Disney had thanked their followers in a heart-warming tweet saying “Thank you for helping the teaser trailer for The Lion King become the most-viewed Disney trailer debut ever as it reached a record-breaking 224.6 million global views in 24 hours!”
