‘Aurat March 2019’ has left a lot of people inspired, empowered and strengthened in the face of oppression. While the majority of people acknowledged the significance of such events in a patriarchal society like ours, but there are some men whose ego is so fragile that they’re unable to digest women holding posters by women, for women and about women.
After completely ridiculing the Aurat March on social media platforms, a handful of insecure individuals have come forward with a silly campaign known as ‘Mard March’ that brings to the forefront ‘issues’ perhaps for the mere purpose of disparaging the oppression faced by women around the globe in different intensities.
The Mard March, which comes as a response to the Aurat March has actually evoked quite a lot of anger on social media because of some offensive posters put up by men.
Some very insecure men have organized a response to #AuratMarch — #MardMarch.
This is so sad and pathetic. pic.twitter.com/FS5YltMXVT

Some posters on Aurat March may have overstepped some boundaries but you need to understand that it was part of a largely valid protest and the entire point of a “protest” is to vent out one’s anger or frustration about structural abuse or injustice. Women AND men have only been oppressed because of patriarchy and this is what Aurat March was all about.
