ISLAMABAD – President Dr Arif Alvi has stressed for further strengthening transport and communication infrastructure in the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) region to facilitate trade and investment, the Radio Pakistan reported.
Talking to Secretary-General to ECO Dr Hadi Soleimanpour in Islamabad today (Thursday), he said that the ECO has the potential and capacity to function as a bridge between North and South as well as Europe and Asia.

Dr Arif added that said that ECO vision 2025 holds the importance of a roadmap for the region.
He said Pakistan is upgrading its rail and road infrastructure to facilitate smooth flow of goods to its neighbours and to promote trade opportunities within the region.
