NOWSHERA – In the year of the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Pakistan, world largest producer of mining dump trucks management company “BELAZ-HOLDING” (OJSC “BELAZ”) has launched its first dumper truck in the South Asian country for the first time.
A solemn ceremony dedicated to the entering into operation the mining dump truck BELAZ (MODEL 75453), was held yesterday at the Cherat Cement Factory in the Nowshera district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
These trucks have a payload capacity of 45 tons, and will mainly be used in cement and mining sectors.
The company has planned to procure at least 15 such heavy machines in a year.
This was made possible thanks to the agreements reached during the highest-level visits to Belarus and Pakistan in 2015 – 2016, the active work of the Joint Belarus-Pakistan Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, as well as many business events between the two countries.
The delivery of the first BELAZ to Pakistan is an example of the successful interaction of the two countries in the industrial sphere, the exchange of advanced technologies with the Pakistani industrial complex and the significant contribution of the Belarusian Side to the equipment and development of the cement and mining industries of Pakistan.
“This is the first step as we are looking forward to boost our trade with Pakistan especially in heavy machinery, agriculture, pharmaceutical, and other areas in future,” said Ambassador of Belarus in Pakistan Andrei Ermolovich while addressing the ceremony.
“This year is a very special one in the history of bilateral cooperation between Belarus and Pakistan because the two countries are marking the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations,” he said, adding “over the recent years we have managed to set every condition for the full-scale development of Belarus-Pakistan cooperation”.
He believed that this first ever world known mining dump truck BELAZ in Pakistani market would be a substantial contribution of Belarus to the equipment and development of the cement and mining industries of Pakistan.
Ermolovich said “today we are on the eve of the opening of a new page in our bilateral relations, since we see an excellent example of the progress of the cooperation in the sphere of industry, as well as exchange of advanced technologies with the Pakistani industrial complex.”
The ambassador said Inter-agency contacts had been established and the Inter-ministerial working groups on industry, agriculture, science and technology, military and technical cooperation were operating successfully.
He informed that the two countries were actively preparing to the official visit to Belarus of Prime Minister Imran Khan in the second half of 2019 in accordance with the official invitation extended by the President of Balarus last year.
It should be mentioned that the head of our state attaches special importance to the development of friendly relations with Pakistan, he added.
Belarus is an export-oriented country and at the same time our economic potential in the field of industry, agriculture, pertro chemistry, machinery and others allows us to cooperate with many Pakistani companies, Ermolovich said.
The solemn ceremony at the cement plant was attended by representatives of OJSC “BELAZ”, the Embassy of Belarus in Pakistan, the leadership of Pakistani companies “Ghulam Faruque Group”, “Greaves CNG Private Limited”, “Cherat Cement Company Ltd.” businessmen and leading Pakistani media.
The Government of Pakistan was represented at the ceremony by the General Manager of the Engineering Development Board of the Ministry of Industry and Products, Khuda Bukhs.
During the event, Vasily Shostak, First Deputy of the Marketing Center Director of OJSC BELAZ, presented the technical capabilities of Belarusian mining equipment to numerous audiences and mass media of Pakistan, and also answered questions from the heads of a number of other Pakistani companies present at the ceremony.
The ceremony ended with the launch of the BELAZ and the start of its operation.
