Humsaye Maa Jaye’: Bushra Ansari and Asma Abbas rap India in new song for ‘glorifying’ war

KARACHI – Bushra Ansari the legendary actress, singer cum comedian has produced her very own peace anthem to reduce the tensions between the arch-rivals India and Pakistan.

The song is titled as Humsaye Maa Jaye and is being written by Neelum Ahmad Bashir, it’s been sung by Bushra Ansari and Asma Abbas. The video features the two veterans as neighbours separated by a stone wall; with Asma playing a Pakistani woman while Bushra is an Indian.

The video stars Bushra Ansari along with her youngest sister Asma Abbas, both of them are looking stunning, singing from the kitchen to their neighbour, talking about all the hate speech going on in the media and the war theatre.

Humsaye Maa Jaye gives a message of love and peace instead of the brewing political hate campaign initiated by neighbouring India. It also highlights the similar lives of people on both sides of the border in a fun way and the problems they face such as scarcity of water and electricity.

The neighbouring Countries – Pakistan and India – were part of the Subcontinent for centuries. However, their shared culture, tradition, history and language could no longer hold them intact following the emergence of the two-nation theory, and eventually, they parted away in 1947.
