Pakistan invites Kashmiri leaders for talks on August 23

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Pakistan has invited the leaders of Indian Occupied Kashmir to High Commission in New Delhi on August 23, the day Pakistani National Security Adviser Sartaj Aziz is scheduled to hold dialogue with his Indian counterpart.

According to reports in Indian media the separatist leaders including Syed Ali Gillani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Yasin Malik and Naeem Khan have confirmed the invitation from Pakistani High Commission.

“We received the invite over phone on Tuesday evening. The Pakistan envoy wants us to meet Sartaj Aziz before talks with India,” Ayaz Akbar, spokesperson of Syed Ali Gillani has been quoted saying.

The national security advisers of Pakistan and India are scheduled to meet on August 23 in New Delhi to discuss bilateral issues. And the invitation to Kashmiri leaders by Pakistan in such a time has sparked a new debate about the agenda of NSAs meeting.

Earlier in September 2014, India had cancelled the Foreign Secretary Level talks with Pakistan when Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi invited Kahmiri leaders for talks.
