Abdul Hafeez Pirzada laid to rest in Sukkur

SUKKUR (Web Desk) – The renowned lawyer Abdul Hafeez Pirzada was laid to rest in the presence of large number of people here on Saturday.

His body was shifted from Karachi to Sukkur Aiport from where it was taken to Jiye Shah Badshah shrine.

Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, PTI leaders Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Jahangir Khan Tarin, Pakistan People Party leader and Sindh Information Minister Nisar Khoro, lawyers and people from different walks of life attended his funeral prayers.

Pirzada was under medical treatment in London for some time.

Born in 1941, Pirzada was one of the founding members of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and provided his legal services as an advisor and aid to Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto – the former prime minister of Pakistan.

Pirzada also served as federal law minister and a member of a committee that drafted 1973 Constitution of Pakistan.

He had also played an important role as a part the legal team that fought Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s case in late 70s.
