Govt, businessmen discuss ways to boost exports on PM Nawaz’s order

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – The government has held consultations with representatives of businessmen and industrialists on ways and means to boost exports.

The consultative session was held in Islamabad on the directives of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

Federal Ministers for Commerce, water and power, petroleum, and planning and development, Assistant to Prime Minister on Revenue Haroon Akhtar and other senior officials represented the government.

Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry President Mian Idrees led the exporters delegation.

Addressing a news conference after the consultation session, Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir said the meeting remained successful and the government assured full cooperation to the private sector for boosting exports.

The FPCCI President applauded the government’s move to interact with the businessmen belonging to export sector in order to boost exports.

He said the consultative session reflected the seriousness of the government in addressing the issues of the business community.
