LAHORE (Web Desk) – The Department of Health has issued an alert as threat of dangerous Congo virus looms in cattle markets of Punjab, reported Dunya News.
Purchases and sales of goats, oxen and camels in the cattle markets have reached peak as Eid approaches. The Health Department has issued alerts of Congo virus in the cattle markets and issued Executive District Officers (EDOs) with safety instructions. Personnel of Livestock department have been assigned duties to spray in cattle markets.
According to Department of Health’s guidelines, cattle owners and buyers must use lotion on exposed parts of the body. Citizens who return from market should shower and change clothes. According to experts, a large number of animals sacrificed for Eid are imported from Iran, Afghanistan and India which are infected from Congo virus.
