HARARE (Staff Report) – The bowling action of Pakistani offspinner Bilal Asif has been reported to International Cricket Council (ICC) following the third One Day International (ODI) game against Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club.
The offspinner had dismissed five Zimbabwean batsmen for 25 runs only in the Monday’s match.
Bilal Asif made his international debut in one day format cricket in second ODI against Zimbabwe. He failed to perform well in the first game however he managed to pick five wickets in his second game.
Pakistan won the three match ODI series against Zimbabwe by 2-1 following a whitewash in T20 series to the same.
Previously two Pakistani spinners, Saeed Ajmal and Muhammad Hafeez, were also reported to ICC for illegal bowling action. The council banned both them from bowling in cricket events.
However Saeed Ajmal and Muhammad Hafeez both cleared a bio-mechanical test of their bowling actions in India this year to get the ban lifted.
Muhammad Hafeez was once again banned for another 12 months after his bowling action was reported for the second time.
