DG Rangers meets CM Sindh over anti-Rangers ads

KARACHI (Staff Report) – Sindh Rangers DG Major General Bilal Akbar Thursday met Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and conveyed his reservations regarding advertisement against the paramilitary force by police in local dailies.

The chief minister assured the DG Rangers that impartial inquiry would be conducted into the issue and action would be taken against the culprits found involved.

Shah said a conspiracy is being hatched to create misunderstandings between Police and Rangers.

A row erupted between police and Rangers (Sindh) after police issued advertisements in local newspapers seeking public assistance in tracing of at least six missing persons allegedly picked up by “unknown Rangers” from Orangi Town.

The meeting also discussed ongoing operation against criminal elements in Karachi and overall security situation in Sindh.

Earlier, the Sindh CM also chaired a security meeting, where home secretary and Inspector General of Sindh police gave briefing to the attendees.

DG Rangers, home minister, information minister and additional IG were also present in the meeting.
