35th death anniversary of Urdu poet Sahir Ludhianvi

LAHORE (Staff Report) – The 33rd death anniversary of renowned Urdu poet Sahir Ludhianvi is being observed on Sunday.

The poet remained associated with the music industry for around 30 years as a lyricist and is still remembered through his songs.

He was born in Ludhiana India in 1921 and dies of heart attack in 1980.

He won the Filmfare Award twice, in 1964 and 1977, and in 1971 was awarded the Padma Shri. He was also honored with the issuance of a commemorative stamp on 8 March 2013, the 92nd anniversary of his birth.
