HARARE (Web Desk) – Afghanistan has become the first associate member team to defeat any Test-playing nation in ODI series by beating Zimbabwe,
The team won fifth ODI game 73 runs making it a 3-2 series victory.
Chasing a 246 run target Zimbabwe collapsed at 172 runs in the 45th over. Sean Williams’ 102 off 124 balls also failed to clinch victory for Zimbabwe.
Afghan fast bowler Dawlat Zadran picked 4 wickets for 22 runs only.
While batting first Afghanistan’s opener Noor Ali Zadran made 54 and Mohammad Nabi, who hit a maiden century in the second match of the series, chipped in with 53 as Afghanistan reached 245-9 in their 50 overs.
