Army Chief leaves for Peshawar to supervise rescue operation in earthquake areas

RAWALPINDI (Staff Report) Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif on Monday proceeded to Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtoonkhaw (KPK) to assess and supervise rescue operation in earthquake area.

According to ISPR, the Corps Commander Rawalpindi has also flown for damage assessment in far flung areas of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Meanwhile, army troops have been mobilized for carrying out rescue operation in earthquake areas while all the Combined Military Hospitals have been (CMHs) put on high alert.

Specialized earthquake rescue machinery has is also on alert and Army helicopters have been mobilized.
