JI, PTI to jointly contest LG polls in Karachi

KARACHI (APP) – Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will contest Local Government elections in Karachi under seat adjustment agreed on 85 percent seats.

This was announced by JI Karachi chief Engr. Naeem-ur-Rehman and PTI Organizer Ali Zaidi at a joint press conference here on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Naeem-ur-Rehman said that the coalition was formed for development and progress of the metropolis with joint struggle.

He said that the coalition is not against any political party or cartel but only for prevalence of peace and prosperity in the city.

He urged the government to place Army or Rangers in each and every booth of all polling stations to keep the election process free, fair and transparent.

The PTI leader said that drastic measures would be taken to uplift the education, health and transport sectors in the metropolis after winning the elections.
