COLOMBO (Staff Report) – Pakistan and Sri Lanka have agreed to further strengthen bilateral economic cooperation in diverse field including cement, sugar, higher education and pharmaceutical sectors.
This understanding was reached in a meeting between Commerce Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan and Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe in Colombo on Tuesday.
Khurram Dastgir Khan expressed hope to broaden the bilateral Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the two countries.
He emphasized the need to diversify the existing trade patterns by creating more trade linkages.
The Minister urged Sri Lankan business community to take advantage of Pakistan’s business friendly policies. He said Pakistan is ready to allocate space to the Sri Lankan investors in Special Economic Zones.
