ISLAMABAD (Online) – Pakistan and China have expressed their complete uniformity of views regarding cooperation in Anti-Corruption work and decided to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) before the close of the year.
It was decided in a meeting between National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry with Liu Jianchao, Vice Minister of National Bureau of Corruption Prevention, Ministry of Supervision, Peoples Republic of China, at NAB headquarters.
The NAB chairman said that anti-corruption work would be given importance so as to curb corruption in the under process and huge development projects between the two countries. He added that matters of various strategic economic ties were being undertaken between Pakistan and China.
He was given detailed briefing regarding the operational methodology of NAB encompassing Enforcement, Prosecution, Awareness and Prevention activities.
Liu Jianchao reciprocated very warmly to the welcoming words and the briefing session arranged for him.
Mr Jianchao spoke about strategic partnership between the two countries and the need for future cooperation in the field of Anti-Corruption work.
In this respect, he also showed willingness of his government to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for collaboration in Anti-Corruption work.
He further emphasised the anti-corruption work being done in china wherein the fight against corruption includes actions against flies and tigers both.
