KARACHI (Web Desk) – As Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is driving Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), the PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari is all set to take over the PPP-Parliamentarians which is registered with Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) as a separate political party and owns legal representation of lawmakers who are commonly known to be of PPP.
Currently none of Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is legal or technical patron of PPP-P which means they have no-legal control over parliamentarians in National Assembly or Senate or even those who are running government in Sindh.
Late Amin Faheem was heading the party as president however after his death Zardari sees himself most suitable replacement, the Dawn said while quoting unidentified sources.
The reports said the leadership wanted to merge the two PPPs however they feared if anyone else could register the PPP-Parliamentarians in his name to create legal troubles for them.
Zardari’s possible move to take over PPP-P was discussed in Dubai while Amin Faheem was seriously ill and under treatment in London, and hence all PPP lawmakers will become legally answerable to Mr Zardari.
The report concluded saying “If Zardari doesn’t take over PPP-P then it would be someone other loyal and trustworthy like late Amin Faheem.”
